Felt Holly Christmas Garland | DIY

Hello Lovelies!
Todays Blog is how to make your own Felt Holly Garland, I saw this in
a magazine (I'll link it at the bottom) and just thought it looked really pretty and
effective. This decoration is perfect for presents for friends, or even just to decorate
your house for the festive season.
The Felt Holly Garland is really inexpensive to make and doesn't really
take that long.

What you will need:
Red Felt
Dark Green Felt
Light Green Felt
Red Cotton Thread
Fabric Scissors
Sewing Machine (optional)

Step One
Cut out a selection of Red 'berries' and Light and Dark Green 'leaves'
As you can see I have positioned mine out as i want them on my table.
I bought my Felt from my local craft shop, Bee Crafty (link at the bottom)
and it was great quality and a really good price at £6.99 per metre,
I used 0.15 metres of each colour for this project, and it made 5
garlands (approx 1.5 metres each)

Step Two
Cut two strips of red felt for each garland (about 5x1 inch) then fold them
in half and sew down the length, then double over and secure the ends together. If you do not
have a sewing machine then  you can sew by
hand or alternatively glue. These will be the hooks on each end.

Step Three
Starting with a hook sew your 'berries' and 'leaves' together leaving a small gap between them.
If you are not sewing this then you can also glue to some string or ribbon
of your choice.
When you get to the end simply finish with another hook.

This is my finished garland, I did try putting glitter glue around the edge
of the dark green 'leaves' and red sequins on the 'berries' but
preferred it without. That is why there is glitter glue and sequins
in my what you will need picture.
You can put these garlands practically anywhere, on mantle pieces, across
the top of doors, on christmas trees or even across your wall.
Hope you have as much fun making these as I did.

Did you know that the ancient Romans believed that holly
warded off lightening strikes and witchcraft?
